The Mayor’s Office of Economic Development would like to invite you to attend Hammond’s 13th Annual Job Fair on Thursday, March 24th at the Hammond Civic Center, 5825 S. Sohl Avenue, Hammond, IN 46320, from 11am to 3pm. Co-sponsored by North Township Trustee Frank J. Mrvan and WorkOne of Northwest Indiana, this event is instrumental in addressing the employment needs of the residents of the City of Hammond and the Region, as well as assisting local companies in their recruitment process.
We have carefully selected “premier” companies representing government, finance, gaming, healthcare, sales, manufacturing, and apprenticeship trades. Over 75 companies were represented at the fair last year; it’s a free event you will not want to miss! Be sure to bring plenty of resumes and dress to impress!
“This year we are proud to bring the job applicants workshops that will help them be better job seekers,” said Africa Tarver, Director of Economic Development in Hammond. “WorkOne will sponsor two workshops during the job fair that will last about 45 minutes in duration. We are really excited to be able to bring this educational opportunity to the public.”
“At this event, we always have extra tables set up for job seekers to fill out applications. I cannot stress the importance of bringing plenty of updated resumes,” Gabby Gallegos, Marketing Coordinator for Hammond’s Economic Development team states. “It is also extremely important to dress appropriately for the job you want. When in doubt, dress up, not down!”
