Notice of Public Hearing: 2016 City of Hammond Action Plan

Notice is hereby given that the City of Hammond, Department of Planning & Development will hold a public hearing at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in the Council Chambers, second floor, City Hall located at 5925 Calumet Avenue. The hearing is to receive public comments regarding the proposed Action Plan for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) projects.

The City of Hammond’s 2016-17 Annual Action Plan identifies federal funds expected to be available and indicates the proposed activities. The preparation of an Annual Action Plan is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in order for the City of Hammond to continue to receive funds under the CDBG program according to 24 CFR Part 91. The Department of Community Development will submit this proposed 2016-2017 Annual Action Plan to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on or about Monday, February 15, 2016, for final approval and funding.

The deadline for additional comments and or concerns not expressed in the Council Chambers will be taken and considered by Friday, February 12, 2016. All written and orally submitted comments from residents/citizens and or agencies will be received. A draft of the 2016-17 Action Plan will be on hand for public viewing by appointment only at the offices of Planning & Development, 5925 Calumet Ave. Suite #115, Hammond IN 46320, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If preferred, written comments and concerns regarding the 2016-17 Action Plan can be directly submitted to:
