Hammond Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. announces that the City of Hammond has completed its second year with SeeClickFix and the Hammond 311 app. To date, the 311 app has been downloaded by 1900 android and iOS users. “Our goal is to get to 2000 downloads this year,” stated Mayor McDermott. “Ultimately, we would like all our residents reporting issues through the 311 app.”
The Hammond 311 app is free to download and can be used to report non-emergency issues such as graffiti, tall weeds and grass, broken streetlights, potholes and other local issues. The app is fun, easy to use and completely anonymous. It will also allow you to snap a photo to add to your request. Reports are automatically sent to our 311 system and routed to city departments for resolution. An individual reporting an issue will be able to follow their issue from the time it is reported until it is resolved.
“Earlier this year, the City of Hammond was ranked 22nd in the top 50 fixer cities (cities fixing the most issues) with SeeClickFix across the United States and the world,” stated McDermott. “Through Hammond 311, we are able to see where our problem areas are and work to improve those areas.”
In 2015, Hammond 311 averaged 350 issues opened per month.
