CHESS CLUB
ACME Pawn Pushers chess club meets at the Hammond Public Library, 564 State St., on most Mondays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on the second Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. All skill levels, from beginners to Grand Masters, are welcomed. MUSIC LESSONS
Welcome to the World of Music is a free program for teens and adults at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at the Hammond Public Library, 564 State St. Florian Bolsega teaches music theory. Please bring a pencil and paper to each lesson.

Feb. 5: TEEN BOOK CLUB
The Hammond Public Library’s Teen Book Club meets Thurs., Feb. 5 at 4 p.m. Teens in grades 7-12 are invited to discuss what they’re reading, and there are prizes for those who attend. Feb. 12: TEEN DUCT TAPE ROSES
The Hammond Public Library invites teens in grades 7 through 12 to visit Thurs., Feb. 12 at 4 p.m. to make a duct tape rose for themselves or for a friend. All supplies are included. PRESENTATION BOARDS AVAILABLE
Working on a science fair or history project? Friends of the Hammond Public Library offer a presentation board kit for $9.50. The kit includes a 36-by-48-inch trifold corrugated presentation board; repositionable letters; science fair title headings; clip art; and a glue stick. To purchase a presentation board kit, visit the Hammond Public Library, 564 State St., during library hours.
