Ground Breaks for Final Phase of Oxbow Landing Development in Hammond

Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. and the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development announced the final groundbreaking at the Oxbow Landing Development in Hammond has taken place.

When first elected in 2004, Mayor McDermott saw the economic potential for this area. One of his first major projects was to demolish the multi-residential complex that used a disproportionate amount of city resources and create a plan to bring commerce to the area.

“Our economic development team works hard to bring new development to Hammond,” states Mayor McDermott. “The City’s initial $20M investment in the Oxbow Landing Development area has been eclipsed by all the development dollars brought in. This final project, a 14,000-square-foot class-A office building with 3 floors and a terraced roof, is a perfect example of high-quality progress that so many communities seek. We are proud that the ATG team calls Hammond its home.”

ATG Real Estate Development LLC’s Founding Director, Eric T. Gastevich, says Hammond could not be more complimentary of the City of Hammond’s approach to encouraging and welcoming developers.

“Mayor McDermott has assembled a dedicated leadership team who are able to not only help identify development opportunities, but to help strategize potential incentive programs and deal structures to help convert concepts into reality,” he said.
