Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. and the Department of Planning and Development have confirmed the opening of a second Starbucks location within the City of Hammond. The new location, which is a 2,100 square foot stand-alone building and a 1.5 Million Dollar investment will be located in the Marina District Redevelopment area in the Robertsdale section of Hammond. The store is slated to open in early 2019.

“Starbucks and Hammond are a great fit for each other. I think that they have realized, based on the success of the store located at 80/94 and Indianapolis Blvd., that a second location will only continue to not only serve the residents of Hammond, but also be a success for their company,” said Mayor McDermott. “With this new location opening, both our borders are covered. Next, we’ll work on other locations throughout the City”.

With new Starbucks locations often representing thriving areas where people come and shop, this second location confirms that Hammond is solid and growing, and companies are giving the City a second (and third) look. Stay tuned for the groundbreaking in Spring 2019.
