Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr., City of Hammond and the Ministerial Alliance of Hammond & Vicinity, cordially invite all citizens from Hammond and surrounding communities to participate in the Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., march and commemorative celebration on Monday, January 15, 2024.

Lineup begins at 6:30 a.m. from Freedom Plaza, located on Tapper Avenue, and the march will start at 6:45 a.m. to the Hammond Civic Center.

Please bring your own flashlights or candles.

Also part of this year’s celebration, the Alliance will be recognizing outstanding organizations and individuals from the community.

A community commemoration will be held at the Hammond Civic Center immediately following the march.
