Illiana Christian High School, Crown Point Christian School, and Highland Christian School have joined together to form For Generations to Come, a new educational partnership that will bring a fresh opportunity to Hammond families. The group has acquired the former Spohn School building from City Baptist Schools and plans to launch Hammond Riverside Christian School in the fall of 2026.
The school will open with 126 seats in grades K–5 and will grow over time to serve up to 1,040 students in Pre-K through 12th grade. Accreditation has been completed, ensuring the school is prepared to deliver a high-quality Christian education and offer access to the Indiana Choice Scholarship. Information about enrollment, including how families can join a waiting list, will be shared in the coming months.
“This investment in Hammond shows the strong confidence our regional partners have in the future of our city and its families,” said Mayor Thomas M. McDermott Jr. “We welcome Hammond Riverside Christian School as another option for parents seeking a faith-based education, while reaffirming our continued support for all of the school options in Hammond.”
Leaders from For Generations to Come expressed their enthusiasm as well: “By working together, our three schools are able to create something new and lasting for Hammond families. Hammond Riverside Christian School will provide a Christ-centered education designed to serve students for generations to come, and we are thrilled to be part of Hammond’s future.”
The addition of Hammond Riverside Christian School reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to supporting educational choice and opportunity, while working in partnership with all schools to ensure Hammond remains a great place to live, learn, and raise a family.
