Adoption

Animal Control takes in hundreds of stray or abandoned animals each year. Nearly all of these animals are healthy, gentle, loving animals that could make wonderful family pets. Rather than turning to a pet store or breeder, we ask that you consider one of our animals when looking to add to the family. It is truly sad to see even a single, wonderful dog or cat go unadopted. Please help.

Any animal not reclaimed by its owner within the legal impoundment period of three days shall become the property of Animal Control and shall be placed up for adoption for as long as shelter space permits.

Any person interested in adopting an animal from Animal Control may submit a written application. Applications are available at the shelter. Once received, applications will be reviewed, and applicants will receive a disposition within 24 hours.
