The City Plan Commission of the City of Hammond, Lake County, Indiana, will hold a public hearing on Monday, November 16, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, second floor of City Hall, 5925 Calumet Avenue. The Plan Commission will meet to review the Zoning Ordinance and land development rules with the goal of increasing housing development pursuant to 2026 House Enrolled Act 1001.
Oral comments concerning this proposal will be heard at this time. A copy of said proposal is on file at the Department of Planning, 5925 Calumet Avenue, Room G-17, Hammond, IN 46320 by appointment only between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for examination prior to the public hearing. Written objections filed with the Plan Commission Recording Secretary before the hearing will be considered. Additionally, any comments by any member of the public can be submitted electronically and they will be read into the record at the appropriate portion of the meeting.
