Right of Way Permit Form

Please use the form below to apply for a Right of Way Permit.

Plans and maintenance of traffic must be attached for review by the Engineering Department and the Hammond Water Department.

Allow a minimum of 5 business days for review.

The Board of Public Works and Safety meets every Thursday at 9:00AM in the Council Chambers of City Hall on the 2nd Floor.

  • Calling 811 for locates is mandatory as well as the Street Department Lighting Department 219-853-6431, prior to schedule start date. City owned underground lighting electrical is not covered under 811 and must be called in directly.
  • Please provide any updates to the Board of Works and Safety that would change the scope of work or the schedule
  • Construction is only to be performed between the hours of 7:00AM and 7:00PM unless emergency procedures are being followed.
  • All contractors are required to apply for a building permit with the Inspections Department!
