The Jean Shepherd Community Center is a place for all people in our community to come together to learn about and enjoy the arts, education, athletics and nature. We strive to uphold the fine traditions of the Hammond Parks Department, providing programs by and for the Hammond Community.

A $5.00 ID card is required for all persons using the facility. For families, the first adult will pay $5.00 and each additional person will pay $2.00. There will be a $5.00 fee for each membership card replaced.

Sunrise Club

The Sunrise Club is our early-bird club for persons who wish to come in at 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. to walk, exercise, play ball and socialize. There is a $5.00 fee per month that covers coffee, donuts, paper products and newspapers.

Rentals

Facilities are available on a rental basis for sports events, team practices, weddings, parties, meetings and other events. Please call the business office for rate information.

Disability Policy

In order for a patron to receive the disability rate, they must meet one of the following recommendations:
  • Must be receiving SI benefits, or
  • Must be receiving 100% VA benefits, or
  • Must be certified by a qualified health care provider
