Transit System - Transfers

All passengers of the Hammond Transit System are allowed a transfer with the purchase of a fare on a Hammond Transit City Bus. The transfer will be honored at anytime on the day a fare is purchased and wherever the transfer is presented. The passenger will be able to use the transfer one time and must give the transfer up to the driver upon use. Once the passenger gives the transfer to the driver, the passenger will not be able to use the transfer again, or receive another transfer unless paying another fare. Transfers will never be exchanged for another transfer. Hopefully, this will simplify or past policy and resolve the transfer issue into the future.

This transfer policy affects the Hammond Transit System Buses only, and not the PACE, CTA, or GPTC Systems.
