Hammond Parks extends pool dates

Hammond Parks & Recreation extends pool dates to the public at Hessville pool, located at Kennedy Avenue and 173rd Street, and Pulaski pool, located at 137th Street and Sheffield Avenue, through Saturday, September 3rd.

On Tuesday, August 16th Hessville and Pulaski pools will be open from noon until 7 p.m. Starting on Wednesday, August 17, the hours for Hessville and Pulaski pools are: Tuesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. On Mondays, all pools are closed for maintenance.

Edison pool, located at Spruce & Mulberry Streets, and Martin Luther King pool, located at Tapper and Highland Streets, will close for the season on Sunday, Aug. 14.

Pool passes are still being sold for $20 for Hammond resident adults, $15 for child. If you already have or purchase an adult season pass, visitor passes can be added for $20 and allows 10 visits to any pool.

Purchase your passes at the Hammond Civic Center, 5825 S. Sohl Avenue, or the Jean Shepherd Community Center, 3031 J.F. Mahoney Drive, until Friday, Sept. 2.
