Hammond City Hall Remains Closed Due to Extreme Weather

Hammond Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. has once again announced that due to the extremely cold temperatures and wind chills, Hammond City Hall and non-emergency city offices will remain closed on Thursday, January 31st. Garbage and Recycling will also be delayed.

Reminder, anyone experiencing cold-related issues may call 911 or go to the Hammond Police station at 504 Douglas Street. Please do not go to the police station for accident reports and such as their civilian staff will not be working.

The Jean Shepherd Center and the Lost Marsh Golf Course Clubhouse will be open from ‪7:00am through 9:00pm‬ as warming shelters. Hours can be extended in emergency situations due to loss of power or fire damage.
