Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. and the Hammond Port Authority are proud to announce the details of fitness and recreational opportunities at Wolf Lake.

Join the Calumet Region Striders for running groups on the new Wolf Lake Trails. The Cal Striders group will meet weekly on Thursdays beginning April 2 at 6:30 pm in front of the Pav. This group is free and open to the public. All levels of ability are encouraged to participate. Contact Celina at celina@calstrider.org for more information.

Yoga is back at Wolf Lake! Free yoga classes with Heather will be held Wednesdays at the Wolf Lake Greenhouse beginning April 1 at 6 pm. Weekly Saturday classes will begin on May 9 at 8:30 am. All levels and ages are welcome. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat. The Wolf Lake Greenhouse is located at 2100 Calumet Avenue, across from the 7-11. Head to the Pav on April 25th to participate in World Tai Chi and Qigong Day. This event is FREE and open to everyone. Beginners and advanced practitioners welcome. Join 70+ nations and hundreds of cities worldwide in a global wellness wave! Sign in begins at 9:30 am with the warm up starting at 10 am. For more information, contact Sam at taofan@aol.com.

Get on the water! Kayak, paddle boat, canoe, and stand up paddle boards are available to rent at the Pav. Just $10 gets you an hour on the water with the vessel of your choice, life jacket, and paddle. Rentals begin Memorial Day weekend and continue through September. Please call ahead to 219.937.7942 to check availability. Rentals are weather permitting.
