Gerald P. Kray Appointed Judge Pro Tempore

CATEGORY: Mayor's Office, News

Hammond Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. announces that the Indiana Supreme Court has appointed Gerald P. Kray as Judge Pro Tempore in the Hammond City Court. His appointment will remain effective until Governor Pence names a successor or by further order of the Indiana Supreme Court.

Judge Kray was appointed special judge by Judge Jeffrey Harkin while Harkin dealt with health issues. Unfortunately, Harkin passed away last Friday necessitating this action by the Indiana Supreme Court. Kray is authorized to continue the duties of Judge of the Hammond City Court and is entitled to compensation equal that of the previous Judge.

Judge Kray is a life-long resident of Hammond and practices out of his Griffith law office.
