Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. and Bishop Brandon A. Jacobs, Sr., President of The Ministerial Alliance of Hammond and Vicinity, present the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. March and Legacy Awards Celebration.
Lineup for the march is at 6:30am on January 15, 2018, at Hammond City Hall, 5925 Calumet Ave, and the march will begin at 6:45am.
The celebration will take place at the Hammond Civic Center, 5825 S. Sohl Ave, after the march. There, the Drum Major Legacy Award, the Rosa Parks Legacy Award, and the Distinguished Service Award will be presented.
Speakers include United States Senator Joe Donnelly and Congressman Peter Visclosky, U.S. House of Representatives.
